Security, the audit log, and exporting your data

Freedom Practice is built for health information: everything is encrypted, every look at a chart is recorded, and each role sees only what it needs.

Sign-in rules

Open Settings → Security (owners and admins) to:

• Require two-step sign-in for every staff role, not just owners and managers.
• Set how long a staff session lasts: 4, 8, or 12 hours.
• Sign a staff device out after a number of idle minutes.
• Limit staff to your office's internet addresses. Owners are never limited, so you cannot lock yourself out.

The front desk's screen also blurs after two idle minutes, so a walk-up client cannot read it. Each person can change that under the account menu.

The audit log

The Audit log lists who did what and when: sign-ins, chart views, exports, setting changes, and support access. Filter by date, role, area, or words, and download it as a CSV. Managers find it under Reports.

Export your data

Export your data downloads your clients with contact details, appointments, invoices, chart notes, services, and team logins as CSV files, at no charge. Each download is recorded in the audit log.
