Insurance cards and claims

Clients add their insurance card from their phone, the front desk checks it with the plan, and the CMS-1500 fills in from it.

Adding a card

In the client hub, a client takes a photo of the front and back of their card. The app reads the card on their phone and fills in the boxes it can: the insurance company, member ID, group, plan, and name. The client checks them and adds how they relate to the person on the card. The photo is never sent anywhere to be read.

The front desk can also scan a card from the client's profile.

Checking it

On the profile, the card shows the payer and the last four characters of the member ID. Choose Show the front or Show the back to see the photos; every look is recorded. When you have confirmed it with the plan, choose Mark as checked with the plan.

A new card replaces the old one, which stays in the history.

Claims

The CMS-1500 draft fills boxes 1a, 4, 6, and 11 from the card in use, with billable units for timed codes by the 8-minute rule. Practitioners do not see insurance cards.
